Care for your PMU like a pro.
The results of your permanent makeup will depend on a few things: the skill of your artist, your prep, and your aftercare. However, your artist’s skills will only get you so far. You could have the best artist in the world, but it won’t mean anything if you don’t prepare for the service properly or perform the right aftercare. But that’s why I’m here! I’m giving you my tips on how to secure amazing permanent makeup results.
Pre-care
Refrain from using skincare with retinol in it 30 days prior
Don’t work out the day of the treatment
Don’t get any botox or fillers 2 weeks before your appointment
Don’t schedule a brow tint 3 days before your brow tattoo appointment
Don’t tweeze or wax your brows for 1 week if you’re getting a brow tattoo
Refrain from tanning 2 weeks before the service
Avoid having facial services done 2 weeks prior
Avoid fish oils or Vitamin E for at least 2-3 prior (natural blood thinners)
Don’t consume alcohol or caffeine at least 2-3 days before your service
Don’t take an ibuprofen 2-3 days before the service (Tylenol is okay)
Aftercare
Use a fresh pillowcase to avoid bacteria (silk is the best option)
Don’t pick or scratch the area. Your scabs will fall away naturally
No facials, fillers, botox or chemical treatments for at least 4 weeks
Refrain from exercising (sweating) for 1 week
Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for about 4 weeks
Don’t swim or soak in hot tubs for 2 weeks
When showering, use the shower shields supplied to you
Do not apply makeup including sunscreen on the area while healing
Only use the aftercare balms and tonics supplied to you while healing
Don’t tint, tweeze, thread, or wax your brows until they are fully healed
If you got your lips done, use a straw to drink during the healing
