Care for your PMU like a pro.

The results of your permanent makeup will depend on a few things: the skill of your artist, your prep, and your aftercare. However, your artist’s skills will only get you so far. You could have the best artist in the world, but it won’t mean anything if you don’t prepare for the service properly or perform the right aftercare. But that’s why I’m here! I’m giving you my tips on how to secure amazing permanent makeup results.

Aftercare

  • Use a fresh pillowcase to avoid bacteria (silk is the best option)

  • Don’t pick or scratch the area. Your scabs will fall away naturally

  • No facials, fillers, botox or chemical treatments for at least 4 weeks

  • Refrain from exercising (sweating) for 1 week

  • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for about 4 weeks

  • Don’t swim or soak in hot tubs for 2 weeks

  • When showering, use the shower shields supplied to you

  • Do not apply makeup including sunscreen on the area while healing

  • Only use the aftercare balms and tonics supplied to you while healing

  • Don’t tint, tweeze, thread, or wax your brows until they are fully healed

  • If you got your lips done, use a straw to drink during the healing

  • What to expect after PMU: Day 1

Your brows, lips or liner will look amazing. You may experience some redness and swelling right after the procedure, but that’s totally normal and will subside.

  • What to expect after PMU: Day 2

Your pigment will definitely look darker than the day before, and will probably continute to darken. Don’t panic, though! This is normal and will fade.

  • What to expect after PMU: Days 3-6

The treated area will begin to lightly scab over as it begins to heal. Your skin may feel tight, dry and itchy during this phase. You can use the provided tonics and balms to soothe the area and find some relief while you wait for it to pass.

  • What to expect after PMU: Days 7-14

The scabs will start to fall off. The area will look patchy at this stage, but again, this is normal and the reason you get a touch up. It’s important to NOT pick or pull any scabs off to avoid premature and abnormal fading, as well as infection.

  • What to expect after PMU: Days 15+

Your treated area will continue to heal, and the pigment will gradually become more visible after fading a bit during the scabbing. It is normal if some areas are lighter than others, that’s why we book you in for a 6 week touch up.

  • What to expect after PMU: 6 weeks

It’s time for you to book your 6 week touch up. If you booked with me for the initial work, this is included in your pricing, so all you have to do is contact me to book! We’ll fix up any issues with shape, pigment, etc to make those brows good as new.
